What is "AI visibility", and how does Alice measure it?

Two things, measured separately. Whether AI crawlers can reach and read your site at all, which the free audit reports per bot with no signup. And whether AI answers actually cite you for the queries your buyers type, which Alice probes weekly and keeps as a series so you see change rather than noise. Google AI Overviews is checked on every paid plan, along with two more engines in Beta, labeled exactly as the product labels them: ChatGPT (OpenAI model with web search, not the ChatGPT app) and Claude (Anthropic API with web search, not claude.ai). Each engine is reported on its own, as cited, mentioned, not cited, or no sources returned, because they rarely agree.

That is the point of connecting GA4. Alice links the pages AI answers cite to the visits those pages receive, and to the one outcome event that matters on your site: a signup, a lead, or an order. Traffic that arrives with no referrer is reported as unknowable rather than guessed, and a number that fails an integrity check is never quoted.

Five differences, and they are structural. The answer updates itself instead of freezing at the moment you asked. It runs on a schedule, probing the same buyer questions every week and storing the result, so you get a series rather than a spot check. It reads your own Search Console and GA4 rather than what you pasted, tracks which AI answers cite you, and ships fixes as pull requests you approve. Every other tool here is something you operate; Alice runs, and you approve.

SEO tools are built for rankings and keyword research, and some now track AI citations too, but they stop at the click. They cannot tell you whether the people an AI answer sent you signed up, and they do not write fixes into your site. If keyword research is your actual problem, an SEO tool is the better buy.

Set a goal and Alice works toward it: she finds the gap, writes SEO and GEO code changes as pull requests through the GitHub App, and drafts blog posts and LinkedIn posts. Then she stops. She never merges, publishes, spends money, or changes a setting inside your Google, Meta or Stripe accounts, and some fixes have no API at all, so she hands you the exact click-path instead of pretending she fixed it. Autopilot is in Beta, so expect rough edges.

How long does setup take, and what do I need to connect?

Search Console and GA4 are two OAuth clicks, about 30 seconds, and both hold history, so your first weekly reading covers the past months rather than starting from zero. Google Ads, Meta, Stripe, Shopify, GitHub and your own database are optional and can wait until you need them.

Is my data safe, and where is it stored?

Alice reads only what you connect through OAuth, and read-only: she cannot change a setting in your accounts. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in AWS in the Asia Pacific (Tokyo) region, never sold or shared, and never used to train AI models. Cached query results are purged after 24 hours, and you can request full deletion at any time.

Can I check Alice's numbers myself?

Yes, and the product is built for it. Every answer shows the query behind it, the sources used and the raw results, and you can edit and re-run it or export to CSV. The free audit is deterministic, so you can run curl against the same page and confirm what it reports. Alice refuses to report a number she cannot verify against your own data.
